MYTHS AND TRUTHS IN NUTRITION

If I had a penny for every gogomania I've heard about healthy eating, I'd be rich. I think there are few areas where things have become as tangled as food.

We know how to count calories, we know about mesomorphs, ectomorphs and endomorphs, we know about kale and green wheat juices. However, obesity and unhealthy lifestyles are more common than ever.

That being said, I have collected for you the most common myths I have heard in my profession and which I sincerely hope you will not embrace.

Myth: We get fat if we eat carbs.
FACT: We gain weight if we eat more calories than we burn.

Myth: It's not good to combine carbs with protein.
Truth: We can combine carbohydrates with protein, it is even advisable to have all food groups at every meal.

Myth: Fruits are eaten two hours after a meal.
Truth: Most of us have no problem eating fruit during or immediately after eating.

Myth: If I follow Keto, Dukan, Paleo, etc., I can eat as much as I can and lose weight.
Truth: You need to be low in calories to lose weight no matter what you choose to eat.

Myth: We can only lose weight if we follow a strict diet.
Truth: The more rules we have and the more restrictive we are, the more likely we are to have frequent episodes of compulsive eating.

Myth: If we want to be healthy, we need to eat more food
Truth: No overeating can make up for an unbalanced diet.

Myth: If we want to be healthy we need to do a detox from time to time. Kisses with juices.
Truth: it matters what we consume in the 365 days in a year. A one-week detox can't make up for the excesses of the rest of the time
